Opening Night — Thursday, October 9 • Riviera Theatre (Santa Barbara) 5:30 - 10:00 PM Kick off the festival in style at the iconic Riviera. Enjoy a special screening with filmmaker Q&A, followed by an Opening Night celebration that sets the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Festival Night — Friday, October 10 • Camino Real Cinemas, Camino Real Marketplace (Goleta) 6:00 - 11:00 PM Dive into six curated film blocks starting at 6:00 PM, playing across three theaters all evening. Experience a dynamic mix of adventure, wildlife, conservation, and human-nature stories—plus live Q&As with filmmakers. Passholder Perk: John Muir Laws Workshop - Friday, October 10 • Skofield Park (1819 Las Canoas Rd, Santa Barbara) 1:00 - 3:30 PM Festival Pass holders receive exclusive access to John Muir Laws’ Nature Journaling Workshop, a copy of The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling, priority seating, Opening Night and post-film party access, and a special Anniversary NatureTrack hat.

Description

The NatureTrack Film Festival returns October 9–10, 2025 to the Riviera Theatre in Santa Barbara and Camino Real Cinemas in Goleta. This year marks 15 years of NatureTrack’s nonprofit mission and 7 years of the festival, which showcases award-winning films celebrating nature and outdoor adventure. Opening night features a lively courtyard party with cocktails, treats, a filmmaker Q&A, and a Silent Disco under the stars. The evening also includes the inaugural Outdoor Icon Award honoring Bimarian Films and recognition of Honored Artist John Iwerks. More than 20 national and international films will screen, from Alone in Greenland to Saving Our Ancestors and Walking With Elephants. All proceeds support NatureTrack’s work providing free outdoor experiences and wheelchair-accessible adventures for people of all ages.
